It was a fun, inspiring, lovely night and all of us at Make-A-Wish Maine are so thankful for everyone who strapped on their cowboy boots and hats to join us for this evening. We are still tallying the dollars, but it is clear that the evening was a huge success.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the night came when Wish Dad Mark Gentle sang the song he wrote for his son. If you were unable to attend or if you'd like to hear the song again, please click here.
Another big moment of the night was the granting of Logan's wish! Logan, 17, was invited to the event as our special guest. Little did he know that he would be receiving his wish for an ATV that very night. He took no time at all to jump on his ATV and we hope he is having a lot of fun with it.
Logan's adopt-a-wish sponsor is high schooler Lanie Howes. Lanie has been a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish Maine for years and this is the FIFTH wish granted in Lanie's honor. Yes, that means Lanie has raised about $36,000 towards Maine Wishes!
At the event, we asked if anyone present was inspired enough to donate money in Lanie's honor. Paddles flew high and we had donors pledge $43,500 in her honor. This is all aside from the gifts given throughout the auction. We were speechless!
We will be positing more photos soon, but check out our Facebook page to see a few photos from the event. We are so thankful to everyone who attended, bid, and donated to Make-A-Wish Maine. Also a big thanks to everyone who donated an item to our auction. What a success!
