Welcome to Words of Wishdom
Welcome to the new Make-A-Wish Maine blog! I am excited to be able to share our wish stories, volunteer and staff spotlights, events and more with you here. If you have an idea for a blog, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Since I will be the one working on this blog, I thought I would start off by sharing a little bit about myself.
What is it you do at Make-A-Wish? I am the Donor Care Manager at Make-A-Wish Maine. I am in charge of our database and am in the process of cleaning it up to make sure the information in there is perfect, I process and acknowledge all of the gifts received, and right now I work on the website and am in charge of social media. Additionally, with a small staff covering the entire state of Maine, I am lucky enough to see some wishes in action!
Favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is when the first visit packets come in and I get to see if our new Wish Kids have selected a wish yet.
Most challenging part of the job? There is a lot of balancing done here with a small office serving the entire state of Maine. Keeping all the balls in the air can be challenging at times, but it’s what keeps the day-to-day activities exciting.
Personal Life? I am originally from Massachusetts and moved to Kennebunkport with my family as a teenager. I graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2007 with a degree in Communications/Media Studies with a concentration in Writing. I am the youngest of three and am lucky to be the aunt of three wonderful boys who live nearby. In my spare time I enjoy writing and someday hope to be published. Oh, and I LOVE to bake!
Little Known Fact: I am extremely near-sighted.
I am: optimistic, family-oriented, and an early bird.
If I could wish for anything, I would…
Wish to be: a published author.
Wish to have: a digital SLR camera with all the lenses I could ever need.
Wish to go: to Hotel Kakslauttanen to sleep under the Northern Lights.
Wish to meet: Tina Fey.
