Make-A-Wish Maine currently has over 90 children waiting to have their wish granted and the critical funds raised at these events help make it all happen. In the past 25 years, Make-A-Wish® Maine has been able to grant more than 1,450 wishes - 76 in the last year alone - for children with critical illnesses. These life-changing wishes are only possible through fundraisers and the collective commitment to one goal: to grant the wish of every eligible child.
A granted wish replaces fear with happiness and helps a child feel like a normal kid who is less isolated and more empowered to take back control of his/her life. More than 80% of parents of wish kids observed a decrease in their child’s anxieties and fears after receiving their wish and marked the wish as a major turning point in their response to treatment.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH Maine Make-A-Wish Maine creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment Journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers in Maine grant one wish every 5 days. Since 1992, Make-A-Wish Maine has granted more than 1,400 wishes to children in Maine. All money raised in Maine stays in Maine. All wish expenses are fully covered by Make-A-Wish. Make-A-Wish Maine is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and all contributions are tax deductible. The Maine chapter has over 200 volunteers statewide, and a staff of seven. Our office is located 66 Mussey Road in Scarborough.
