Surprise Wish Reveal: 3:30pm
Fourteen year–old Wish Kid Alice has had a long battle with a brain tumor. Like most teens, Alice loves spending time at the beach, mermaids, and being with friends and family. Despite Alice’s medical setbacks, she is strong-willed and graduated from 8th grade on time and received various awards including the Principal’s Award.
When presented with the opportunity to receive a wish, it was no surprise when Alice decided she wanted a special place to get away her friends.
Join us as we surprise Alice with her custom, mermaid-themed “She Shed” wish and see first-hand, her response as her wish comes true.
Special thank you to Adopt-A-Wish sponsor, Maine Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Implementation Committee, for working tirelessly to construct the She Shed of Alice’s dreams.
SFI is a leading sustainability organization focused on responsible forestry, conservation and community engagement. Represented in Maine through the Maine SFI Implementation Committee, members works responsibly managed. The Program fosters continuous improvement in forest management by requiring forest professionals – including landowners, loggers, and mill owners – to commit to ongoing research, continuing professional education, and consistent communication with the general public concerning developments within the SFI Program.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH Maine
Make-A-Wish Maine creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment Journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers in Maine grant one wish every 5 days. Since 1992, Make-A-Wish Maine has granted more than 1,400 wishes to children in Maine. All money raised in Maine stays in Maine. All wish expenses are fully covered by Make-A-Wish. Make-A-Wish Maine is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and all contributions are tax deductible. The Maine chapter has over 200 volunteers statewide, and a staff of seven. Our office is located at 66 Mussey Road in Scarborough.
