Letter from Volunteer Manager

Dear Future Magic Maker,

I want to thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Make-A-Wish Maine. Volunteers are pure gold to the Make-A-Wish movement. As you may already know, the purpose of our Foundation is to grant the wishes of Maine children who are living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

In order to determine your interest level, please use the following guidelines:
Class I volunteers are at least 21 years old and serve on an ongoing basis in one or more volunteer roles. Volunteers who are “wish granters” or who have access to chapter funds or confidential information must be Class I volunteers.

Requirements for this position are:


Class II volunteers serve Make-A-Wish on a committee or project, or are under 21 years of age.

Requirements for this position are:

    • A completed application
    • Additional training as needed

  • A wish can help a child replace fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. What’s more, research shows that wishes can give kids the edge they need to battle their illnesses.
