The Board of Directors of Make-A-Wish Maine is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Vickery as the new Executive Director.
Kate has 15 years of nonprofit experience; 12 of which serving the Make-A-Wish Maine chapter in various leadership positions. In her new position, she brings expertise in the areas of fundraising, event management, volunteer management, mission delivery, marketing and communications. She is a graduate of Brunswick High School, and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine.
Lynn Bak, Chair of the Make-A-Wish Board of Directors shared, “As we celebrate our 25th anniversary and reflect on the 1400+ wishes we have granted to Maine children, we are most fortunate to have Kate as our new Executive Director. Her leadership background coupled with her knowledge of the chapter and her deep sense of commitment to the mission will be significant contributions to Make-A-Wish as we move forward as an organization.”
ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH® Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Having granted over 1400 wishes, the organization expects to grant an additional 70 greatest wishes this coming year to critically ill Maine children; averaging one wish every five days. All money raised in Maine stays in Maine. All wish expenses are fully covered by Make-A-Wish. Make-A-Wish Maine is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and all contributions are tax deductible.
